Meet Barbara

Young woman smiling with sunlight and greenery in the background.

Barbara Kitane is the founder and lead curator of With Meraki Travel Collection.

For more than twenty years, she has worked across hospitality, tourism, sustainability, communications, and experience design throughout Asia and Europe. Her career has taken her from Milan's luxury brands and international hotels in China to destination development, regenerative agriculture, and sustainable tourism initiatives across the Philippines.

These experiences shaped a conviction that continues to guide her work today:

The most meaningful journeys are not defined by where we go, but by how deeply we engage with the people, places, nature, cultures around us.

At a time when travel often prioritizes speed, volume, and visibility, Barbara's vision is different.

She believes that extraordinary experiences are carefully designed, thoughtfully paced, and grounded in genuine connection. They are built through trusted relationships, local knowledge, cultural respect, and an understanding of what makes a place unique beyond its attractions.

This philosophy informs every experience created by With Meraki Travel Collection.

Drawing from her experience in hospitality, destination development, and sustainability...

Drawing from her experience in hospitality, destination development, and sustainability with GSTC-certified sustainable tourism expertise, Barbara designs experiences that are thoughtful, culturally grounded, and create lasting value for both travelers and local communities.

"The finest experiences are not measured by the places we visit, but by the perspectives we gain and the connections we carry home."
